Superstar Kindy is an Australian owned kindergarten located in Nanjing, China right by Nanhu and Mouchou Lakes. Our goal is not just to teach children English, but also to teach children in English, creating a real English environment.
We empart to our students a wealth of knowledge and although we don't just allow them to play, all lessons are taught in a fun way through song, art, and play to help children increase their interest in learning and allowing them to fall in love with learning in a pleasant atmosphere. Once we inspire an active interest in learning, the results will multiply and surprise. We want to ensure that children are considerate, open their minds, enhance their problem solving skills and enrich their lives with confidence and the knowledge to tackle varied tasks independently. Clean & Healthy
Safety FirstWe take safety and cleanliness one step further than most schools in China by using only drinking water to rinse fruit and vegetables, cook rice, or boil food with etc. We have a very large steriliser which ensures all bowls and utensils are free from any bacteria and we use multiple cloths with each cloth only being used for a specific area or purpose and replaced regularly. We practice Australian food safety regulations including keeping a thermometer inside the fridge at all times to ensure safe temperatures are maintained. Due to safety concerns, we never use pork and take extreme care when using chicken.

All of our dishes are designed to be not only delicious but also healthy and nutritious.We never use MSG or add sugar to any dishes though some products may contain small amounts of sugar already. We ensure all meals are balanced including lots of protein and green leafy vegetables and we ensure that meals are kept interesting and yummy. Morning and afternoon snacks always include fruit and milk including (soy and dairy at different times) as well as some bread, cake, egg, or porridge. Children here must drink water at least every 45 minutes or so during break times. It is not uncommon for our students to go home and request their parents make them the dishes they have had at school.
Most weeks, we have cooking classes and teach all children from 2yrs and older to make a variety of healthy and tasty dishes from Sushi to fruit salad, thai curry to pasta. Each child has their own containers to take the food home and share with their family.

Classes
Unique ApproachOur main philosophy is based on delivering the same information through a range of mediums to appeal to the students in different ways ensuring that the classes are not just stimulating, but also effective in reaching those who may learn better by one medium over another.
We have 8 core delivery methods and each class from English Conversation to History or Maths, includes each of these 8 elements. These are watching, listening, speaking, writing, drawing, singing, playing, and most importantly, actions or gestures.

English Conversation SuccessOur English Conversation classes are hugely successful due to our unique approach. Time and time again, not only parents but also teachers are amazed at the ability of even our youngest children to hold a conversation in English after a very short time.
Class Info
English Conversation
Based on the Genki English course but with our own unique lesson plans and approach. Each week, student's learn a new question and around 8 answers.
Maths
We start with counting & from there move on to weekly classes of either additions, subtractions, & multiplications. Divisions are taught during the 4th year only.
History & Geography
Each week we learn about a town/city/country and about an interesting thing, person, or event in that places history
Lifeskills, Science & Technology
Classes such as manners, hygene, computers, & the environment ensure students are ready to embrace a modern world with understanding, confidence & respect for nature.
Arts & Crafts
Each week our children create new & beautiful crafts giving them the skills to know how to accomplish their own projects & the ability to envision & create something on their own.
Music & Song Class
We learn songs & play along using a range of instruments as we sing. Our goal is not to teach them to play any one instrument but hopefully to foster their passion & help them find which they would like to learn.
RAD Ballet
As a fully licensed Royal Academy of Dance (patronised by the queen) ballet school, we provide weekly classes that allow children to advance through the RAD grades.
Chinese Classes
Chinese language classes include Reading & Writing, Math, History & Geography, Poetry & Song, & Pinyin. As Chinese, it is important our children deeply understand & love their country.
Story Time
With both English & Chinese story times, we hope to instil a love of literature & culture as well as cultivate a child's natural ability to dream.
Sports Class
We ensure children receive adequate outdoor excercise daily. We focus on teaching sportsmanship and exposing children to different sports that they might find their passion.
Performance Practice
Each semester, our children participate in a number of performances including at outside events and end of semester at school. These are very important for building their confidence.
Field Trips
Weekly field trips are an important part of our school. We learn about historic sites, animals, plants, markets & use this opportunity to teach children about road & group safety.

All of our teachers are universtity graduates with at least 3 years teaching experience.Our foreign staff are hired only from Native English Speaking Countries. Regardless of their experence, all teachers must undergo strict Superstar training and ongoing evaluation.

All local teachers are licensed kindergarten teachers in accordance with Chinese regulations.Even with all daily classes but one taught in English, our "assistants" are themselves fully licensed kindergarten teachers. In addition to assisting the foreign teachers, they also teach the daily Chinese classes.
With at least 3 "aunties" on duty at any time, those with special needs such as feeding or changing nappies are well taken care of. Our "aunties" also assist the children in the bathroom whilst the teachers ensure they wash and dry their hands and drink adequate water.

United KingdomJames is our resident art and math teacher from Monday to Friday. He has a Masters in Science and is very serious about his teaching.

United StatesPeggy is one of our weekends teachers. She has been teaching kids in the US for a number of years and is a hit with all her students.

United KingdomAJ is one of our weekend teachers. A professional Cambridge teacher with years of experience teaching in China, Aj is loved by all his students for his funny antics.
